Week-long children's cultural exchange programme held in Tamenglong
As many as 40 students took part in the week-long hill-Valley Children's Residential Cultural exchange programme.
The concluding function of one-week Hill-Valley Children's Residential Cultural exchange programme was held at Mount Gideon School Campus, Chabagan Tamenglong Ward No VII on Saturday.
The week-long children's residential cultural exchange learning programme was organised by Manipuri Dance Foundation School Imphal/Chandrika Trust in collaboration with Indigenous Women and Children Foundation and Inriangluang Luh Chuzaeng Phuam Tamenglong. The rare cultural exchange programme was sponsored by the Governor of Manipur.
Speaking at the occasion as chief guest, SDO Tamenglong Mahesh Hiralal Chaudhari said that Manipuri classical dance from the Northeast is among the famous dances of India and it is performed on the themes of devotion on religious occasions.
He urged all the young participants to learn different dances from different districts of Manipur. The district administration will plan to organise similar cultural exchange programmes in the future, he said.

He also assured of finding all possible ways to organise such cultural exchange programmes and urged all children to have big dreams and pursue them.

A message from Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla was read out and encouraged the young students during the concluding function.
Inriangluang Customary Court Village Authority secretary Disuang Pamei and Tamenglong Baptist Church assistant pastor Dilu Pamei attended as president and guest of honour respectively at the function.
