India's COVID-19 recoveries cross 1 crore-mark

A total of 20,346 new cases were recorded in India on Thursday.

The total COVID-19 recoveries in India on Thursday crossed the 1 crore-mark as 19,587 more persons recovered from the infection, while the total caseload surged to 1,03,95,278 with 20,346 new cases, the Union Health Ministry said.

With the new recoveries, the number of active cases in India is 2,28,083, which comprises 2.19 per cent of the total caseload. The national Recovery Rate has further grown to 96.36 per cent and the daily positivity rate remains below 3 per cent, the ministry said. 

COVID-19 fatalities in India continued to remain less than 300 for the 13th day on Thursday.

India reported 222 more deaths, taking the total number of fatalities to 1,50,336, according to the Union Health MInistry.

Maharashtra has reported the maximum single day deaths (66 deaths). Kerala also saw a fatality count of 25 while West Bengal reported 22 new deaths, the ministry added.
