As instructed by Imphal Police Headquarter Narcotic cell, Imphal East District Police organised a one-day anti-drug awareness rally in and around Kshetrigao area on Tuesday.
The rally was organised in connection with the week-long anti-drug drive that was started on December 15 and concluded on December 22.
The anti-drug rally was attended by additional SP (Law and Order); SDPO of Lamlai Police Station; SDPO of Porompat Police Station and other district police officials along with civil organisations, meira paibies and members of drug rehabilitation organisations.
The rally commenced at 10:30 am from Naharup Thongkhong till Thambalkhong in Keshtrigao area by holding banners that read ‘Rally of Mass Awareness Campaign, To Stand against Illegal Drug Traffickers, Financers and Offenders Etc’. The placards read: ‘Don’t fall into the death trap’, ‘Death and drugs are best friends’, ‘Drugs are death trap’ and others.
