As many as 67 quarantined inmates of Diligent High School will be shifted to Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School on Wednesday, sources said.
According to the sources, there were a total of 103 inmates in the Diligent High School quarantine centre. Of the 103, 34 who were confirmed active cases had been shifted to Bishnupur District Hospital isolation ward on Monday night and two positive cases were admitted at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) earlier.
On Tuesday morning, tension prevailed at the Diligent High School when the inmates protested against the apathy shown by the district administration on the conditions of the inmates. They had alleged that the district administration failed to visit the quarantine centre even once. It was only after 34 of them were tested positive that the administration started showing their attention towards the centre, the inmates alleged. It is believed that most of the inmates tested positive after being quarantined at the centre. The Deputy Commissioner, SP and other district officials rushed to spot and inquired about the protest.
