Manipur's single-day COVID-19 positive tally continues to dip below 100-mark
Manipur on Tuesday reported new COVID-19 positive cases below 100-mark for the second day
Manipur has been witnessing a downtrend in the daily COVID-19 positive cases for the past few days and Tuesday recorded a fall in the new cases below 100-mark for the second consecutive day, according to the state health department.
In the past 24 hours, the state reported 83 new positive cases and three more deaths due to COVID-19 related illness, taking the state's death toll to 327, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The new COVID-19 victims on Tuesday included one each from Bishnupur, Imphal East and Imphal West.
Of the new positive cases, Imphal West reported 36 cases, Imphal East - 28, Churachandpur - 6, Bishnupur - 2, Kakching - 1, Noney - 1, Senapati - 1, Tamenglong - 2, Thoubal - 4, Tengnoupal- 1, and Ukhrul - 1.
All are locals without any significant travel history. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release.
The number of active cases stood at 2,085 (General Population - 1,872 and Central Security Personnel - 213).
Meanwhile, 141 more persons recovered from COVID-19, pushing the total number of recovered cases to 24,880. The state's recovery rate stood at 91.16 per cent.
The cumulative number of patients under home isolation in Manipur reached 8,182, of which, 761 cases are active, while 7,062 patients have recovered from COVID-19, the state health department said.
The state health department in the release has advised the public to dial 104 – Manipur Mental Health Helpline (9 am to 9 pm), for mental wellbeing. If you were in contact with a positive case, immediately self-isolate and contact COVID-19 Common Control Room or the district Chief Medical Officer for testing, it added.
