Manipur Terriers emerged winner in men’s football and Kambiron Part-II team won in women’s volleyball and football at a sports meet held at Puiluan village, which is also called Kambiron in Tamenglong district.
With the aim to promote sports as a means to bring people together, the sports meet was held under the aegis of F coy 165 Territorial Army in collaboration with Puiluan Sports Enthusiasts on December 11-12.
The event, well-attended by the participation of women, children and youth of the village, included women’s football, volleyball and tug of war.
A total of five teams participated in the football match and six teams in women's volleyball.
Major Manish, OC Kambiron, thanked the organisers for the enthusiasm displayed and expressed pleasure in the harmony exhibited while maintaining sportsmanship spirit and adhering to COVID-19 precautions and protocols.
