Residents of Maram bazaar was left in awe when a dog was found bringing an amputated hand of human at Maram bazaar.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at a place near BRTF Mandir, Maram bazaar which is about 35 km (South) from Mao Police Station under Senapati district.
Personnel from Mao Police Station had retrieved the hand soon after receiving the reports. With assistance from Assam Rifles and village authority of Maram bazaar, the Mao Police had reportedly conducted search operation using sniffer dogs in and around the spot where the amputated hand was found. However, police are still looking for answer till the time of filing this report.
Police said that there had been no report of any missing case filed in the past. Moreover, there was no record of any amputation taken place in all the health centres in the area as per the health department, said the police.
Mao police station had registered a suo motto case (under U.D. Case No. 4/Mao-PS/2020 under section 174 CrPC) for further investigation. Inspector Jonah Raphuba Chawang, OC, Mao Police Station has appealed to the public to give any relevant information that could help the police in the case.
