Manipur's COVID-19 active cases second highest in Northeast

Manipur's active caseload has risen to 3,236 of the total confirmed tally of 24,910 cases.

As Manipur's COVID-19 scenario appears to be worsening, the number of active cases in the state is steadily rising close to that of Assam. Today, Manipur is second to Assam among the Northeast states with high COVID-19 active cases.

While Assam's active cases stand at 4,389 of the total confirmed cases of 210,068, Manipur's active caseload has risen to 3,236 of the total confirmed tally of 24,910 cases.

Manipur is followed by Nagaland and Meghalaya in terms of the highest number of active cases in the Northeast region.

Nagaland has the third highest active caseload of 1,194 of the total 11,159 positive cases recorded so far.  

Meghalaya has a total number of 768 active cases of the total 11,740 confirmed cases.

Tripura, which has a total 32,695 confirmed cases of COVID-19, has 595 active cases today.

Mizoram has 378 active cases till Monday while its confirmed tally has reached 3,823

Sikkim remains the state with the lowest number of active cases in the Northeast with 268 cases so far., while its confirmed tally has risen to 4,985, more than that of Mizoram. 

Meanwhile, Manipur's total number of recoveries has reached 21,401 (General Population - 18,621 and Central Security Personnel - 2,780) and the recovery rate has moved to 85.91 per cent.
