Children homes observe Jan Andolan campaign in Tamenglong

The main objective of the campaign is to take necessary precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and encourage others to follow the SOPs so as to reduce the risk of infection.

Zauzian Children Home (ZCH)-Girls, Jaithau Children Home (JCH)-Boys, Macarius Home-Specialised Adoption Agency (MH-SAA) and Childline Service Tamenglong (CLST), run by Indigenous Women and Children Foundation (IWCF) on Saturday observed a week-long Jan Andolan as a part of the nationwide campaign on COVID-19.

The campaign at the children homes began on November 20, focusing on the importance of regular handwashing with soap and water, keeping a social distance of six feet and wearing face masks at public places.

The main objective of the campaign is to take necessary precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and encourage others to follow the SOPs so as to reduce the risk of infection.

During the observance of Jan Andolan, a pledge was taken by the inmates and staff of ZCH, JCH, MH-SAA and CLST along with a poster campaign in the district headquarter. A cleanliness drive was also carried out at the old market shed of Tamenglong and its surrounding.
