Assam's COVID-19 recovery rate improves to 97.99 per cent

Assam on Friday recorded 149 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the state's total tally to 2,12,320.

COVID-19 recovery rate in Assam has improved to 97.99 per cent with the recovery of 160 more patients on Friday, state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

The number of recovered cases in the state as of Friday was 2,08,065, as per the update posted by the health minister on Twitter.

Assam on Friday recorded 149 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the state's total tally to 2,12,320, including 3,272 active cases and three migrated cases.

The new cases are among the 25,844 tests conducted on Friday, Sarma said.

"#AssamCovidUpdate 149 Cases detected out of 25844 tests conducted with positivity rate of 0.58% Kamrup Metro- 45 160 patients discharged today," the health minister tweeted on Friday night.

The state’s death toll stood at 980 and the fatality rate is 0.46 per cent.
