51 enterprises inaugurated under Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme
Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) state mission manager K Ronglo said that after opening the 51 enterprises, there are more in the pipeline to open 101 enterprises in the state.
As many as 51 enterprises Under Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Manipur were inaugurated on Friday at three different locations of Keirao and Khetrigao block as a part of the Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP).
The inaugurations of the enterprises were jointly organised by Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) and Wangjing Women and Girls Society (WWAGS). The main inauguration programmes were held at Thangal Jewellery Works of Huikap Mayai Leikai, Andro AC; and Chaibi Tea Hotel of Keirao Langdum and Leima Handloom of Chanam Sandrok, Keirao AC.
The programmes were attended by state mission director of MSRLM, Yumnam Robita and its state mission manager, K Ronglo; Pradhan of Angtha GP, Thiyam Manihal; pradhan of Keirao Langdum GP, K Chourjit; pradhan of Chanam Sandrok GP, K Sunder; chief advisor of WWAGS, KI Meitei and its project director, Laishram Karan; and other staff of MSRLM.
Yumnam Robita said that the main criteria are to provide financial assistance to the Self-help Groups so as they could have an occupation to earn their livelihoods.
“Instead of worrying about being jobless, people should join the Self-help Groups and earn their livelihood independently. For any uncertainty, we are always ready to help,” said Robita.
K Ronglo said that after opening the 51 enterprises, there are more in the pipeline to open 101 enterprises in the state.
KI Meitei said that the financial assistance given by SVEP is for the benefit of the people and the people who are deprived of proper occupation should work sincerely to meet their livelihood. For any queries, anyone can consult WWAGS to clear their doubts, he added.
