Manipur Social Welfare Department has published a draft of ‘Manipur State Policy for Children 2020’, informed a notification issued by commissioner-cum-secretary of the department dated November 12.

The policy has been drafted by Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights after a series of consultations with different stakeholders like Child Rights and You (CRY), line departments and Social Welfare department as the nodal department. A core committee has also examined the said draft policy.  

The draft policy shall be taken into consideration after 15 days from the date on which the copies of the official gazette are made available to the public.

Objections and suggestions, if any, may be addressed to the commissioner-cum-secretary of the Social Welfare Department or may be sent via email to sonia.oinam@gov.in.

The objections and suggestions received from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry period will be considered by the state government. The draft policy may be available in the Manipur Government website, manipur.gov.in.
