A cumulative number of 4,52,128 people have been screened for COVID-19 in Manipur and 3,84,235 test results have been received till Saturday. Of them, 21,636 have been confirmed COVID-19 positive while the death toll has reached 218, the state health department said.

A total of five patients succumbed to the disease while 211 more people, including 17 security personnel, tested positive for COVID-19 and 190 people recovered on Saturday, as per the latest official updates. With it, the number of active cases rose to 3084, while the recovered totalled 18,334 cases. The total number of active cases included 251 CAPF personnel.

Meanwhile, the cumulative number of COVID-19 infected in home isolation reached 4,915, including 976 active cases and 3939 recovered cases.

The new positive cases from the general population are 58 from Imphal West, 64 from Imphal East, 14 from Thoubal, 21 from Bishnupur, one each from Tengnoupal, Kakching, Kangpokpi and Ukhrul, 18 from Tamenglong, six from Churachandpur, five from Kamjong and four from Senapati. All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release form the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
