The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rose to 94 as 14 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, official sources said.
Nagaland state Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said in a tweet that all new cases were of Chennai returnees.
"14 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours out of 235 samples tested. All the samples tested were from Chennai Returnees," the minister tweeted.
A total of 235 samples were tested in the last 24 hours of which 141 were tested at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, 45 at Dibrugarh and 49 at Jorhat, reports said.
Of the total 94 positive cases confirmed so far in the state, Dimapur recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 71, followed by Kohima with 17, Tuensang five and Peren one, the reports added.
All COVID-19 confirmed cases reported so far in the state are Chennai returnees. All cases are active.
On Thursday, Nagaland registered its highest single-day spike with 22 COVID-19 positive cases, taking the state's overall tally to 80.
