AMFA to approach YAS commissioner over 14th Manipur State League

Amid the backdrop of COVID-19 pandemic, the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has decided to approach the commissioner of Youth Affairs and Sports department regarding the resumption of sporting activity particularly the 14th Manipur State League and Women’s League from first week of December this year.

AMFA in an emergent meeting of its executive council on Saturday has adopted a 25 memorandum during a four hour marathon meeting starting from 10 am at its office complex at Mapal Kangjeibung.

Though the minutes of the meeting proceedings are not divulged, it was learnt that the executive council meeting has dwelt on length regarding the 14th Manipur State League in view of the present scenarios of COVID-19 in the state and strict maintenance of the SOPs by the teams. The meeting also discussed the Bio Bubble facility for the teams.

The representations by AMFA are likely to submit to commissioner of YAS, Boby Waikhom on Monday (November 2), regarding the Manipur State League and its stands and take on COVID-19 pandemic.

It may be mentioned that the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports in a statement made by its director on October 28 last has directed AMFA to cancel its proposed 14th Manipur State League and Women’s League from December, owing to COVID-19 pandemic.
