PFA volunteer tests COVID-19 positive, organisation to carry on work

Volunteers of PFA who are not included in the COVID-19 management team will continue to serve for the welfare of the animals and birds.

A frontline volunteer of Peoples for Animal (PFA), Manipur has been tested COVID-19 positive, said a release signed by managing trustee, PFA Manipur, L Biswajeet Meitei.

Although PFA Manipur stands and works for the welfare of the animals and birds, the team has been working as frontline workers since April to help the district administration, medical and district police of Thoubal in combating the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic, the release added.

It continued that PFA has also been extending help to all the COVID-19 relief committees which were formed under the guidelines of each MLA of the assembly constituencies of Thoubal district.

The PFA Manipur team has been working as frontline workers to combat COVID-19 for the last seven months like managing quarantine centres, testing people by wearing PPE, sanitising, contact tracing and extending help at containment zones, the release stated and added that in spite of hard hit from COVID-19 pandemic, the team has been supporting animals and birds too.

The other volunteers of PFA who are not included in the COVID-19 management team will continue to serve for the welfare of the animals and birds, the release added.
