Cristiano Ronaldo tests positive for COVID-19

The Portuguese forward is in "isolation" after testing positive for Coronavirus, the Portuguese Football Federation said.

Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for COVID-19, the Portuguese Football Federation said in its website on Tuesday.

The federation said in a statement that the Portuguese forward suffers no symptoms and is in home isolation.

"The Portuguese international is doing well, without symptoms, and is in isolation," the federation said.

Other players who were in close contact with him underwent tests, but all tested negative for Coronavirus, the federation said.

Portugal will face Sweden in the Nations League match on October 15. However, owing to the infection, Ronaldo will stay out of the match, the release added.
