The complainant Moirangthem Ajitkevin, who is a practicing advocate, has lodged a pro-bono complaint that the girl was illegally exposed and humiliated before the public in Thangmeiband for posting an allegation - “Sale of Lai-rou by some people of Thangmeiband” on her Facebook account.

The complaint mentioned that such mob justice and mob trial will amount to violation of the right to dignity of the girl guaranteed under Article 14 of the Indian Constitution. The complainant prayed to MHRC to recommend or direct the respondents to take action for ensuring mob justice and mob trial do not happen anywhere or any place of the state.
