Manipur Police officer wins gold in international art contest

The International Online Art Contest and Exhibition 2020 is organised by Pune-based Artreion, a team of artiste.

In what may be termed a moment of joyful respite amid the pandemic gloom, a Manipur Police officer won gold medal in the fourth International Online Art Contest and Exhibition 2020.

The gold medal winner, RK Miranda, currently serving as a sub-inspector in the Manipur Police department, has a flair in digital art painting and was informed about the competition by her school fine art teacher.

The International Online Art Contest and Exhibition 2020, organised by Pune-based Artreion, a team of artiste which not only curate art works but also encourage budding artists to hone their talents and skills, was held in July-August 31, 2020.

As per the information given on its social media handles, there were a total of 40 entries for the competition. Among the entrants, five were chosen as gold medal winners.

Miranda, 38, is born to RK. Somorjit and K. Kananbala Devi of Yaiskul Chingakham Leikai, Imphal. Interestingly, in the past, the lady police officer has brought laurels for the state police department by winning titles at the All India Police Badminton championships. She was also qualified for the 2019 BWF World Senior Badminton Championships, Poland. She is currently posted at Imphal Police Station, attached to MPSC, 2nd Manipur Rifles.
