India’s COVID-19 case tally surges past 54 lakh mark

A total of 92,605 more people were found infected with the virus, in the past 24 hours according to the Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

India’s Covid-19 case tally has surged past 54 lakh mark, after 92,605 more people were found infected with the virus, in the past 24 hours according to the Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

With 1133 more fatalities being reported, the death toll now stands at 86,752, the data stated.

Of the 54,00,620 cases, the number of active cases records at 10,10,824 while 43,03,044 patients have recovered from the infection.

India’s recovery rate has now improved and records at 79.67 per cent, according to government sources.

Along with that, India has overtaken the United States and has claimed the top spot in terms of Covid-19 recoveries, accounting for 19 per cent of global recoveries due to the virus.
