Two shops closed for not following COVID-19 SOPs

People Task Force For COVID-19 has appealed to the state government to take action against shops which do not follow the SOPs.

People Task Force For COVID-19 on Saturday shut down two shops in Thangal Bazar as the shops failed to follow Standard Operating Procedures of COVID-19. The task force has appealed to the state government to take action against shops which do not follow the SOPs.

“If the public including the shopkeepers do not follow the SOPs, the negligence will lead to further spread of COVID-19 in the state,” said a release issued by publicity and propaganda in charge of People Task Force For COVID-19.

It stated that the task force came across the two shops at Thangal Bazar while conducting an awareness campaign for prevention of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, volunteers of the task force along with Indian Red cross Society, Manipur State Branch; Indian Medical Association and Association for Health Care Providers of India also conducted awareness campaigns at Huikap Awang Leikai, Maklang, Uripok, and also conducted a demonstration for preventive measures of COVID-19 that a person should follow.

Resource persons who were invited for the campaign also spoke on different preventive measures and to contain the spread of the virus, it said adding that the People task Force for COVID-19 will continue to organise awareness programme at different places across the state.
