The Churachandpur district hospital has been closed down completely with restriction in entry and exit after a patient was tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
An order issued by medical superintendent of the district hospital, Dr Vanlalkungi has stated that after the detection of COVID-19 positive in the ward of the hospital, it has become imperative to contain some of the wards namely medicine, paediatric, surgery and ENT. In view of safety, neither will any of the patients be discharged from the hospital nor new patients be admitted until all the patient parties are tested negative, it added.
The order further stated that admission in the hospital shall be given only to those patient parties who are ready to risk the situation of COVID-19 in the hospital.
Meanwhile, eight new positive cases were detected in Churachandpur district bringing the total number of positive cases to 740, out of which 614 had recovered with 126 active cases.
