Under the JAC against the killing of Arambam Ranjan, a mass democratic protest rally was organised on Thursday by the public of Churachandpur district with co-operation from the CVOs.
The rally started from Peace Ground, Tuibong to DC office where a memorandum for the chief minister was submitted by the leaders of the JAC and CVOs to the deputy commissioner of Churachandpur, Pawan Yadav in the presence of superintendent of police, Amrita Sinha.
The rally was participated by all the communities of Churachandpur using placards reading 'We Want Justice, No Justice No Rest' and shouted 'Catch the Culprit'.
The memorandum stated that the JAC is constrained to draw attention of the CM in continuation to the previous memorandum submitted on September 5.
The memorandum was jointly submitted by the JAC along with Hmar Inpui, Young Paite Association, Kuki Inpi Churachandpur, Mizo People Convention, Zou Youth Organisation, United Zou organisation and VA of Zenhang Lamka.
While saying that the incident has brought fear and insecurity despite the presence of security forces in the town, the memorandum has urged the state government to speed up the investigation and deliver justice in time.
Meanwhile, sources said that the wife of (Late) Arambam Rangjan, Arambam Ronibala and her six year old son tried to stage a sit-in-protest to get justice for her husband in front of Churachandpur Police Station but the situation was controlled by police.
