As many as 19,221 natives of Manipur who were stranded in different parts of the country owing to the COVID-19 lockdown have returned to the state by train, according to official sources.
So far, 20 trains ferrying returnees have arrived at the Jiribam railway station, the transport department said on Saturday.
Meanwhile, two flights from Delhi have been scheduled for Sunday, May 31.
While an Indigo flight with 180 passengers is expected to arrive at 9:40 am at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal, an Air Asia flight carrying 179 passengers is expected to land at 10:40 am, the transport department added.

Four flights landed at the Imphal airport on May 25, as domestic flight operations resumed after nearly two months.
As the number of returnees to the state increased, the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the state has been rising daily.
On Saturday, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Manipur increased to 62 after a 44-year-old woman and 34-year-old man, from Churachandpur and Chandel districts respectively, tested positive for the virus, the state health department stated.
As many as 580 samples were tested for COVID-19 on Saturday at VRDLs of RIMS and JNIMS, state health department spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said in a statement.
