Manipur: Churachandpur registers nine new COVID-19 positive cases with no travel history

Strict contact tracing was carried out in containment zone as per order issued by the deputy commissioner of Churachandpur.

Nine new Covid-19 positive cases with no travel history were registered in a week in Churachandpur district after strict contact tracing was carried out in the areas of containment zone as per order issued by the deputy commissioner of the district.

Continuing the process of contact tracing, ASHA workers and COVID-19 surveillance team on Tuesday conducted Rapid Antigen Test on every house member at Salem Veng and Khumuzamba Meitei Leikai but no one was tested positive.

Meanwhile, concerning the community transmission of COVID-19, Rural Women Upliftment Society (RWUS) organised awareness campaigns at various places of Churachandpur district. The campaigns were supported by the district administration and different means to contain the spread of COVID-19 were demonstrated.

The awareness programme by RWUS on Tuesday was attended by major women organisations of the district including, Zomi Mother Association, Hmar Women Association, Kuki Women Union and women wing of Mizo People Council.

During the programme, PPEs, face masks, hand gloves and hand sanitizers were handed out to the frontline workers particularly district police, medical staff and ASHA workers.
