The Manipur Patriots' Day observance was held on Thursday morning at the conference hall of the Manipur University Teachers’ Association (MUTA), at Manipur University campus, Canchipur, Imphal.
The event was jointly organised by MUTA and the the Manipur University Staff Association (MUSA).
A release signed by MUTA general secretary of MUTA L Shanjukumar Singh said all the speakers present at the said observance recalled the sacrificing spirits of the heroes for Manipur.
Prof Ch Yashwanta Singh, Prof Sh Dorendrajit Singh and L Jilla Singh spoke on the services rendered by the 'athoubas' of Manipur towards strengthening the patriotic spirits of the people of the land and vice-president of MUTA Prof S Imoba Singh narrated the relevant historical notes on observing the day as the Patriots’ Day, added the release.
It mentioned that general secretary of MUSA Sh Brojendro Singh expressed the desire for celebrating the spirit of Patriots’ Day regularly and president of MUTA Prof M Ranjit Singh appealed the gathering to work with sacrificing spirit for the people of Manipur.
