One more dies of COVID-19 in Manipur; toll rises to 13

COVID-19 has claimed one more life in Manipur, taking the Coronavirus death toll in the state to 13, sources said on Thursday.

The COVID-19 victim, a 37-year--old male, succumbed to the illness at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, at 10.30 am Thursday, a frontline health professional said.

The deceased, Y Ibungo Singh, son of Y Nilamani from Mayang Imphal, was a constable of NAB.

However, an official statement from the state department is awaited.

On Wednesday, the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the state rose to 3,982, as 41 more people tested positive for the virus, according to the state health department release.

Of the 41 new COVID-19 cases, 34 cases are from the general population while seven cases are Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel, according to a  release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room late Wednesday.
