Sagolband MLA RK Imo has requested the Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to direct the CBSE to consider the possibility of allowing students to write the remaining CBSE exams from their respective home state.

“In view of the great inconvenience that will cause, I request the union minister to take the matter on priority and address the issue by giving appropriate direction to CBSE,” Imo wrote in a letter to the union minister.

The MLA stated that CBSE has decided new schedule for the remaining CBSE class XII board exams. However, there are many boarders/hostellers who are at their respective home-towns due to the unprecedented lockdown related to coronavirus pandemic, it said.

Students will have to arrange themselves for interstate travelling back to their institutions for the exam which is risky during this time, it stated.

Moreover, they will have to undergo 14 day mandatory quarantine on reaching the place for exam and on their return to home again, it mentioned. The quarantine period may also overlap with the upcoming JEE, CLAT, LSAT examinations, it added.
