The status of containment zone which was announced on July 4, July 7 and July 14 in the areas of Jiribam district was lifted on Wednesday under an order passed by district deputy commissioner W Malemnganba Chenglei.

The declared COVID-19 free zones are Dibong Makha Leikai, Dibong Khunou, Dibong Khunou, ward no.3, Kunjabon, Patchou, Chingdong Leikai, Islamabad, Champanagar, Kalinagar Part-III, Sonapur Part-I and Jiribam Higher Secondary School. The areas were declared free from COVID-19 after strict surveillance and getting all the test results negative.

It may be mentioned that earlier 11 other areas in Jiribam district were declared COVID-19 free zones on July 25.
