Explosion at Tinsukia oil well injures three foreign experts

Operation work to douse the fire at well number 5 was underway when the blast occurred at the location on Wednesday.

An explosion took place near the oil well of the Indian Oil Ltd at Baghjan in Tinsukia district of Assam on Wednesday, injuring three foreign experts present at the site, according to reports.

Operation work to douse the fire at well number 5 that started on June 9 was underway when the blast occurred at the location on Wednesday.

While the damage is yet to be asscertained, the injured have been rushed to a hospital for treatment, the sources said.

On June 9, massive inferno engulfed the damaged Baghjan oil well of the Oil India Ltd in Assam’s Tinsukia district. Three experts from Singaporean firm Alert Disaster Control were at the blowout site when the fire broke out.
