The Congress party on Tuesday removed Sachin Pilot as Rajasthan's deputy chief minister and party's state unit chief. He will be replaced by Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara as the new Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief.
Sachin Pilot was sacked after state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot met Governor Kalraj Mishra soon after the Congress Legislature Party meeting and briefed him about the recent developments in the state.
The Congress party also removed his loyalists Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena from the state cabinet. The party leadership decided to remove the three ministers at the meeting.
Party leader Randeep Surjewala said Sachin Pilot enjoyed the affection and blessings of party president Sonia Gandhi and was given political power at a young age. Yet, he and other ministers were trying to topple the state government as part of a BJP conspiracy, according to reports.
