Manipur government taking measures for industrial development in state: Th Biswajit

As per the Udyan Registration Manipur stands the highest in Northeast India for the number of MSME registration and employment rate via MSME, Biswajit said.

Textile, Commerce and Industry Minister Thongam Biswajit on Thursday announced that the state government is taking strong measures for industrial development in Manipur in order to boost the economy and improve employment.

Speaking at the one-day conclave for Chief Ministers/Industry Ministers of North East India held at Taj Vivanta of Guwahati, Assam, Biswajit urged the union minister of MSME Narayan Rane to approve the proposal for establishment of two Industrial Estates along with honey cluster 2,  a release stated. 

The minister recalled that as per the Udyan Registration Manipur stands the highest in Northeast India for the number of MSME registration and employment rate via MSME, it mentioned. 

He affirmed that the BJP government had been supporting the entrepreneurs of the state with many favoured acts and rules such as the extension of the factory license from one year to 10 years and providing a single window clearance system to aid the industry and factory start-ups, it stated.  He elaborated on the improvement in the economy as well as the employment due to the establishment of many industrial estates in different parts of the state.

Stating that under the PMEGP, 5901 individuals had been provided with bank loans within the last five years, he asserted that more loans could not be received due to the negligence of the bank authorities. He urged the ministry to provide necessary attention to the matter, it further stated. 

As Manipur is India’s gateway to Southeast Asia, trade and commerce will be the best economic venture for the state, he continued. Appealing to the ministry to approve the proposal for establishment of Tetra Pak and other industrial estates in Imphal east and Senapati, Th Biswajit urged for the equal development of India under the Prime Minister’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat, it added.
