Churachandpur district in Manipur reported no new COVID-19 cases for the past four days, as per official sources.
As per the district surveillance officer IDPS Churachandpur, Dr M Kaisiankhai Haokip, till Friday, Churachandpur recorded nine active cases. And the number of positive cases in Churachandpur district since the outbreak of COVID-19 stood at 10,179 of which 9,991 had recovered, as per DS of Churachandpur district hospital.
Of the 54 beds dedicated for Covid patients, only one bed has been occupied and the district hospital had 120 D type cylinders with majorities of which being filled.
On Friday morning, the district administration led by the deputy commissioner had a meeting with the Churachandpur Private School Owners’ Association at the Mini Secretariat conference hall.
The DC announced that the order for reopening of schools may come after the Ningol Chakkouba festival.
The meeting reviewed the preparedness of the district like the attendance of students on shift basis, taking into account the number of students per school.
Chief medical officer Dr Vumchinpau Tonsing expressed the need to maintain SOPs including vaccination of all concerned.
