Two persons were detained and Indian currency amounting to Rs 10.17 lakh was seized from their possession by the Assam Rifles on Monday at Khudengthabi check post, Tengnoupal district.

The cash was seized during frisking of two individuals who came riding a motorcycle from Moreh to Imphal, said a release issued by the IGAR.

It stated that the two individuals were not able to ascertain the source of the money on being enquired.

The two along with the money and motorcycle were handed over to Moreh police station for further action, it added.
