India records highest COVID-19 recovery rate

As many as 15,951 more recoveries were reported on Tuesday.

India on Tuesday recorded 98.19 per cent COVID-19 recovery rate, highest since March 2020. As many as 15,951 more recoveries were reported. The number of total recoveries reached 3,35,83,318, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

The country also reported 12,428 new COVID-19 cases; lowest in 238 days. The active cases account for less than one per cent of the total cases, currently at 0.48 per cent; lowest since March 2020. India's active caseload stood at 1,63,816; lowest in 241 days.

The Weekly Positivity Rate (1.24 per cent) remained less than two per cent for the last 32 days, while the daily positivity rate (1.10 per cent) stood below 2 per cent for the last 22 days.

The country’s total COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 3,42,02,202, while the death toll mounted to 4,55,068 with 356 more fatalities reported.

Meanwhile over 102.94 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, and 60.19 crore total tests conducted so far.
