Manipur’s daily COVID-19 positivity rate remained five percent at 4.4 per cent, while it reported less than 100 new COVID-19 positive cases and two more deaths due to the illness on Saturday, according to the latest report by the state health department.
The state received 2010 sample test results. Of it 88 more people tested positive for COVID-19 that pushed the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 1,22,633, while the death toll mounted to 1,895.
The two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Saturday are Imphal East and Ukhrul. Both of them had co-morbidities and are not vaccinated, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 28 and 24 positive cases respectively. Ten cases were reported from Thoubal, nine from Ukhrul, four each from Bishnupur and Churachandpur, three each from Kakching and Tengnoupal and one each from Chandel, Kamjong and Kangpokpi.
All precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
The state also recorded 108 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,19,316. The recovery rate is 97.30 per cent, the release added.
Manipur now has 1,422 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 624 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 136 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 18,15,480 (first dose: 12,35,197 second dose: 5,80,283).
According to the release, there are 479 vacant general beds and 104 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in seven hospitals of Manipur.

In Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 82 vacant general beds and 24 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 215 vacant general beds and 28 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 61 general beds and zero ICU/HDU beds.
