Manipur Congress president extends Durga Puja, Ima Panthoibi Iratpa greetings

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) extended its greeting and wishes to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja and Ima Panthoibi Iratpa on Wednesday.

In a separate message, MPCC president N Loken Singh urged the people of the state to follow Covid safety protocols while celebrating the festivals.

Loken said that Durga Puja is a sacred festival in the country which is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm and it signifies the eternal essence of victory of good over evil and proceeds toward hopefuls and bright future. 

May the celebrations of Durga Puja bring peace, prosperity and happiness to one and all, and also strengthen the social and cultural harmony of our beautiful state Manipur, it added.

The message added that Ima Panthoibi Iratpa is a religious festival of Manipur which is dedicated to Goddess Panthoibi, the goddess of courage, war, bravery and wisdom. It is celebrated with great gaiety and devotion in every household which offers prayers to the deity who is believed to reside in every house.

May the celebrations of Ima Panthoibi Iratpa further strengthen the bond of brotherhood among all the communities in the state for a more harmonious and prosperous Manipur, it added.
