Court sends 11 Myanmar nationals into judicial custody in Manipur

The Myanmar Nationals were produced before the court by a team of Singjamei police along with a prayer for 15-day judicial custody remand after completion of six- day police custody.

The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West has remanded 11 Myanmar nationals who were arrested while trying to board a flight to New Delhi from Imphal by using fake Aadhaar cards, in a 15-day judicial custody till October 22.

The Myanmar Nationals were produced before the court by a team of Singjamei police along with a prayer for 15-day judicial custody remand after completion of six- day police custody.

The investigating officer of the case through the additional public prosecutor submitted that the Myanmar Nationals entered into Indian soil using the fake Aadhaar cards.

To interrogate thoroughly and to track the persons who helped in making the fake Aadhaar cards, they are highly required to be remanded into judicial custody, the investigating officer submitted.

The court after examining the case records and after hearing the submission of the investigating officer remanded the 11 Myanmar Nationals into 15-day judicial custody till October 22.

Three other Children in Conflict with Law (CICL) were also produced before the Juvenile Justice Board Imphal West on October 1.

All the arrested 14 Myanmar Nationals hail from different villages of Chin State in Myanmar. The Myanmar nationals were produced before the court by Singjamei police under section 468/471/34 IPC and 14 Foreigner Act.
