Manipur beat Meghalaya by 6 wickets in Vinoo Mankad Trophy

Pacemen Kadamjit Singh scalped a five wickets haul to guide Manipur with six wickets win over Meghalaya in U-19 Men's Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2021-22 played at MECON Stadium, Ranchi on Saturday.

Fresh from their earlier win against Sikkim by sikkim wickets as well, the Manipur team are in high spirit as they take on Meghalaya today with the bowlers maintaining their line and length to tighten their grip in the match.

Meghalaya won the toss and elected to bat first where top order batsman Josiah Momin contributed 34 runs while Ayushman got 24 runs to post 132 runs for 10 wickets from 26.4 over from their allotted 50 overs. Rohit made 22 runs.

Among Manipur bowlers, Kadamjit Singh reaped 5 wickets for 30 runs from his 6 overs where Dominic and Vivekananda got 1 wicket each.

Chasing the target, the Manipur opener made steady progress with Rohit hitting 25 runs from 28 balls while Suresh Singh made 35 runs from 53 balls to reach the target in 23.1 overs, losing 4 wickets. Ulenyai got 26 runs and skipper Jotin fetched 22 runs.

Meghalaya bowler Waldo, Santosh, Bharat and Purav Agarwal bagged 1 wicket each.
