Manipur's COVID-19 tally reaches 1,20,000 with 116 new positive cases

Manipur on Monday reported 116 new COVID-19 positive cases with a positivity rate of 6.3 per cent, while one more person from Im[hal East died due to the infection, according to the latest updates by the state health department.

A total of 1,853 test results were received on Monday of which 116 samples were found positive for COVID-19, the state health department stated.

With the addition of the new positive cases, the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Manipur reached 1,20,000 on Monday, including 1,847 deaths and 2,111 active cases.

Fifty-two new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from Imphal West, 30 from Imphal East, nine from Ukhrul, six from Chandel, four each from Churachandpur and Bishnupur, three each from Kakching, Kamjong and Senapati, and one each from Kangpokpi and Tamenglong, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 recovered cases reached 1,16,042 with 129 new recoveries and the recovery rate is 96.70 per cent as of Monday.

Meanwhile, a total of 957 D-type oxygen cylinders and 242 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the state in the last 24 hours.

It further stated that the cumulative number of doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the state reached 16,71,136, including 12,19,632 first dose and 4,51,504 second dose.

According to the release, there are 435 vacant general beds and 110 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in seven hospitals of Manipur.

In CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 29 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 25 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 20 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 9436807346/7005125158) there are 47 vacant general beds and 40 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 80 vacant general beds and 24 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 195 vacant general beds and 24 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8837342526) there are 39 general beds and four ICU/HDU bed, it mentioned.
