An oil tanker carrying diesel caught fire while plying along the Imphal-Moreh highway near Khudengthabi in Tengnoupal district on Thursday afternoon.
The tanker truck bearing registration No AS 01 EC 5155 was heading towards Moreh from Imphal and reportedly caught fire due to an engine malfunction, sources said.

Fortunately, there was no report of any injuries during the fire and due to timely arrival and action of the Moreh Fire Service team, the diesel inside the tanker was saved from the fire, the sources said.
A team of Moreh police station had also taken an overall stock of the incident.
