Armed miscreants forcibly abducted two persons from Lilong Nungei area under Lilong Police Station, Thoubal district, Manipur on Saturday.
As per sources, the incident took place at around 10.45 pm. The victims have been identified as Md Farijuddin alias Boycha 28, son of Md Rahimuddin and his friend, namely Md Abdul Warish, 31,son of Haji Abdul Barik, both are residents of Lilong Nungei.
The source disclosed that the two men were forcibly abducted in a Range Rover black in colour, bearing registration number DL1CR- 5105, by unknown persons in front of Nungei Junior High School located at Lilong Nungei without giving any reason.
Concerned Police station has registered a case in connection with the incident and further necessary actions were also initiated, the source added.
It may be mentioned that cases of abduction are highly frequent in Thoubal district these days. In the month of March alone, three abduction incidents have been filed.
A JCO of Indian Army was abducted by unknown armed miscreants from Charangpat area under Thoubal Police Station and later rescued on the same day by a combined police team of Thoubal and Kakching district police from Waikhong area on March 8.
Moreover, a man from Thoubal Moijing under Thoubal Police Station was also kidnapped by unknown armed miscreants on Friday last and rescued by a team of Thoubal district police on the same day.
