COCOMI condemns blast on NH 2

The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Wednesday condemned the bomb attack at Koubru Leikha, Saparmeina along Asian highway (National Highway 2) by suspected Kuki terrorists around 12.30 am.

The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Wednesday condemned the bomb attack at Koubru Leikha, Saparmeina along Asian highway (National Highway 2) by suspected Kuki terrorists around 12.30 am on Wednesday.

A release signed by COCOMI media coordinator Yumkhibam Surjitkumar Khuman said that the blast occurred a day after Coordinating Committee POL and Bulk LPG drivers reached an agreement with Manipur chief secretary Vineet Joshi to ensure adequate security along the national highway 37 under a fresh SOP system.

The same clearly depicts that the government is against the public’s interest, it accused. It also recounted the string of unprovoked attacks by Chin-Kuki Narco Terrorists in the state, including the ambush of convoy of oil and gas tankers on May 16 near Tollen in Kaimai and the bomb explosion at Kwakta on June 21, 2023, which injured many people.

The violence which erupted from May 3 orchestrated by Chin Kuki Narco terrorists has resulted in loss of numerous lives, destroyed several properties and displaced many, it said. COCOMI expressed displeasure over the Centre for allegedly remaining a mute spectator to the crisis which is nearing almost a year, it added.
