The programme was organised by the National Research Centre (NRC), Imphal.
Head of Department of Law, Manipur University Yumnam Premananda lauded the efforts of the three participants in dispersing wrong narratives and asserting factually correct data during their presentation at the council.
“The people of Manipur need to be conscious of the country’s while also being aware and knowledgeable on present international laws,” he said.
He expressed concern over the lack of research and discourse primarily over the state’s long cultural and political history.
“We need more scholars and subject specialists who can counter wrong narratives,” he added.
He also expressed suspicion over the Central government’s delay tactics and stated that their two faced approach to resolve the crisis may lead to an undesirable end.
“Therefore, we need to assert our views on the conflict on large platforms to amass global public opinion to form a well rounded judgement,” he added.
He also exhorted the general public to be more knowledgeable of such platforms and use them more proficiently. NRC president Thongam Ajit among others were present during the event.
