The Manipur cabinet should lead in educating CAF&PD Minister L Susindro who stated ‘Women are liars’ and he needs to correct his moral character too, the Khwairamband Ima Keithel Joint Coordinating Committee for Peace (KIKJCCP) said on Thursday.
KIKJCCP, formed by women vendors of Khwairamband Ima Market, were reacting to reports that the minister said ‘some women are liars’ for stating that PM Modi did not speak nor comment on the Manipur crisis.
Convenor of the women’s body, Laishram Mema, said since the crisis erupted in Manipur, PM Modi never gave his stand on Manipur or that it will be protected no matter what. If he does not give any stance to protect Manipur, then the people of Manipur will take him as a mute spectator, she added.
Since the violence erupted on May 3, 2023, narco-terrorists are attacking us but no legitimate stand from the PM is made to stop the firing, she added.

The minister should also clarify his statement wherein he stated that some ‘social media’ handles can be bought in order to spread propaganda. If he has such a social media handle then he should reveal to the public or is there any personal media for him, she questioned.
He should know that the Assam Rifles were withdrawn from Kangla Fort by the ‘Imas’ and cautioned not to criticize those ‘Imas’ who are involved in the ongoing crisis to protect territorial integrity and boundary of Manipur, said Mema.
Mema said Susindro should consult his advisor on what statement can or cannot be made on public platforms or in the media.
She advised minister Susindro not to doze in the Manipur Legislative Assembly session while proceeding is continuing. And he should remember that his MLA’s tenure is only for five years, she added.
One of the members of the women’s body, Bimola said they strongly condemned the allegation of Susindro that women are liars. She then questioned why PM Modi was visiting Russia leaving the Manipur crisis. We are not aliens coming from another planet, she said.
The incident of June 18, 2001 and incident of May 3, 2023 occurred during the BJP government, Bimola noted, adding that they are not giving sides of any political parties but are putting forward the facts.
