Decrying the attack on JD-U candidate of Kshetrigao assembly constituency, Wahengbam Rojit alias Bullet, locals of the candidate organised a one-day sit-in-protest near the victim’s residence at Porompat Thawanthaba Leikai, Imphal East on Sunday.
JD-U president of Kshetrigao mandal, Nongthombam Chandra appealed to all the politicians not to do politics like a dictator. If such type of violence persists the meaning of democracy will have no value, added Chandra.
Stating that the incident has created a fear psychosis in the minds of people, he appealed to all not to repeat such an incident.
Working president, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Tongbram Mangibabu alleged that most of the poll violence that occurred in the state are under the influence of BJP candidates.
Such violence speaks volumes that BJP candidates are in trouble, said Mangibabu.
