Shiv Sena's Manipur Unit president M Tombi has submitted a memorandum to Union Home Minister Amit Shah through the party's central leader, Rahul Shewale, with various demands, including the removal of 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs from the Manipur government.
The memorandum was submitted on Saturday at the party's national office in Mumbai.
In a voice note, State Shiv Sena president M Tombi said that the memorandum included several demands, such as the removal of Manipur Government's security adviser Kuldiep Singh and Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh. He explained that both officials were appointed by the central government to control the Manipur violence, but the situation has continued to escalate under their watch.
He said since May 3 last year, Kuki militants have been attacking Meitei villages and from September 1 this year, the attacks had escalated with the usage of sophisticated weapons including drone bombing and long-range rockets.
The memorandum also demanded that the 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs, who have been calling for a "separate administration," be withdrawn from the Manipur government, as their demand threatens the integrity of the state.
Additionally, Tombi urged for adequate deployment of security forces along the two main national highways in Manipur.
