Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh called upon all to remember frontline warriors for the successful fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, as he extended his gratitude to all healthcare professionals on the occasion of the World Health Day 2022.
"Greetings to everyone on this #WorldHealthDay. On this occasion, I extend my gratitude to all the healthcare professionals whose service have kept the Nation healthy. Let's also remember our frontline warriors who have led the successful fight against the Covid-19 pandemic," Biren tweeted.

Several young people in the state volunteered and contributed greatly to curbing COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

On March 25, citing "significant improvement" in COVID-19 pandemic situation in Manipur, the state government on March 25 directed the director of Manipur Health Services to close down all existing Covid Care Centres (CCC) in the state, except the CCC RD Wing, Lamphelpat with immediate effect.

The government also directed immediate disengagement and termination of all the contract and daily wage staff being engaged by the directorate of Health and in the districts by CMOs or Medical Superintendents (MSs). It also sought detailed report of Covid staff engaged on contract and daily wage beyond December 31, 2021 both by the directorate of Health in Imphal and in the districts by CMOs and MSs.
Manipur today has 44 COVID-19 active cases, while the confirmed number reached 1,37,136 and the death toll remained at 2,120 with zero new fatality for the past few weeks, according to the latest update by the state health department.
So far, the total number of people who have been administered the COVID vaccine has reached 27,96,913 (first dose: 15,44,961 second dose: 11,85,105 precautionary dose: 66847).
