The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Saturday has alleged that there is mounting distrust among people in the state and central paramilitary forces due to certain biases of the administration.

He called upon both the state and central government to remove the pertaining biases and added that issue could be fully reined in only when this was done.

Speaking to media at Irawat Bhawan, Imphal, CPI National secretary Pallab Sengupta stated that the issue could be fully reined in only when insecurities among both communities were completely abolished.

“The mounting distrust among both communities regarding the administration must be removed; able administrators need to create neutral space where members of both communities can air out their grievances properly,” he said.

He stated that the issue could be resolved within a matter of days if both the state and central governments conjure up political will. Both governments need to align their political will and zoom in collectively to resolve the turmoil, he added.

He stressed upon the need for authorities to convene an urgent state assembly sitting to meticulously discuss and work out measures to resolve the crisis.

An open dialogue with both warring communities and a neutral mediator also needs to happen so that crisis can be properly assessed from both sides, he added.
