All government offices in Naga areas of Tamenglong were picketed on Tuesday by volunteers of All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) in demand for lifting of ban on mobile internet.
Speaking to the media person after picketing offices at Mini Secretariat and Zonal Education Office in Tamenglong, a spokesperson of the volunteers said that they will continue picketing offices on Wednesday and if the government of Manipur fails to meet their demands, they will intensify their agitations.
The spokesman said that under the banner of ANSAM, Rongmei Naga Students Organisations, Rongmei Naga Youth Organisations, Dailong Students Union, Tamenglong village Students Federation have started picketing offices in Tamenglong.
The joint organisations demanded immediate lifting of ban on mobile internet in Tamenglong district, and declaration of recruitment result of assistant profession conducted by Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC).
He stated that Tamenglong district is a free and peace-loving zone and they have been trying to help restore peace in the state since the clash broke out in the state.
